Das neue Album „No Half Measures“ von Thärichens Tentett ist eine Herzensangelegenheit: Nach nunmehr 20 Jahren, 5 Alben - das letzte "An Berliner Kinder" Echo-prämiert - und vielen Konzerten in Europa und Asien bedankt sich Bandleader Nicolai Thärichen bei seinen treuen Musikern mit auf den Leib geschriebenen neuen Stücken. Dabei konnte jeder eigene Ideen einbringen, seien es Gedichte zum Vertonen, Originalkompositionen oder Lieblings-Songs zur besonderen Behandlung. Herausgekommen ist ein ebenso abwechslungsreiches wie persönliches Programm, das noch tiefer blicken läßt in die Vorlieben und Talente aller beteiligten Künstler. Die Band gab sich selbst das Motto und der CD den Titel „No Half Measures“: ein großes Dankeschön an das treue Publikum und eine runde Sache zum Jubiläum
Thärichens Tentett was founded in 1999 and since then released 6 albums and played concerts all over the world. For it´s 20th anniversary the band released "No Half Measures“ that includes lyrics and compositions of all the band members. Nicolai Thärichen either put the lyrics into music or arranged the original compositions and even some popular songs for this unique ten-piece-band. You can hear a wide range of styles and thus a very personal statement of all ten artists. As an ambassador of the Berlin Jazz-scene Thärichens Tentett was granted a special funding by the Berlin Ministry of culture for the following two years. „Thärichen's Tentett delivers the most felicitous compositions, the most polished arrangements, as well as the most humorous presentation of all larger German jazz groups.
